CMS Announces Strengthened Enhanced Enforcement for Infection Control Deficiencies

On March 30, 2023 CMS announced more aggressive enforcement action for facilities with infection control deficiencies, including greater civil money penalties and reduced time to achieve compliance before denial of payment or more stringent directed plans of correction are applied.
