March 15, 2018
9:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Eastern Time)
On November 28, 2017 all states began a brand new computer-based survey process for LTC facilities. This coincides with the implementation of Phase 2 of new Requirements of Participation and a newly revised State Operations Manual. Combined, this massive overhaul incorporates new survey procedures, new survey forms, new F-tags, and 41 new and updated investigative protocols (now called “pathways”). This seminar will explain the new computer-based LTC survey process effective November 28, 2017. New survey procedures, new survey forms, new F-tags, and new surveyor guidance will be addressed throughout.
At the conclusion of this course, the learner will:
- Identify significant differences between the old and new survey process
- Understand how the new survey process is conducted
- Understand the Phase 2 provisions for limited enforcement remedies and what this means for facilities and the impact on the 5-Star Rating System
- Explain strategies for survey success as the new process gets underway
