Meeting RoP Staff Competency Requirements
The regulation at F-tag 726 states that nursing facilities must have sufficient nursing staff with the appropriate competencies and skills sets to provide nursing and related services to assure resident safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.
Proactive has developed Competency Tool-Kits to assist providers in complying with this regulation.
These tool-kits are intended to supplement or enhance current SNF/NF educational programs to meet the intent of the new requirements. Staff competency may be reviewed based on facility policy, but is generally recommended for review with applicable employees upon hire, annually, and as needed when gaps in competency are identified.
