Course Description:
Strong systems for capturing swallowing disorders and the need for modified diets will be crucial to accurate reimbursement under PDPM. This webinar includes a deep dive into MDS Section K and will review appropriate procedures for identifying swallowing disorders, the need for a modified diet and supportive documentation to validate MDS coding. We will examine the factors relevant to setting the speech therapy case-mix component, and recommend best practices for systems to identify, communicate, and effectively manage the information required to properly code Section K of the MDS.
