Course Description

Nursing facility leadership should be confident in their ability to effectively dispute survey deficiencies through the IDR, IIDR and Administrative Law Hearing processes. Even low-level deficiencies can negatively impact a facility’s star rating, public reputation and participation in managed care. Deficiencies can also lead to litigation and affect the ultimate outcome and/or settlement of legal matters. Facility leaders should carefully consider the impact of all levels of deficiencies for potential IDR, IIDR or Administrative Law Hearing disputes. This 3-hour workshop will review the regulatory guidance for the processes to dispute deficiencies. The session will provide an outline for effectively working through each process and will offer tips and strategies for conducting a successful IDR, IIDR or Administrative Law Hearing.
