Course Description
This training, designed for individuals new to ICD.10 coding in nursing facilities, will assist you in gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to accurately assign ICD.10-CM codes for clinical and billing practices.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the definitions of ICD.10-CM terminology
- Understand the ICD.10-CM coding & reporting guidelines
- Demonstrate the ability to utilize resource materials to accurately assign ICD.10-CM codes
- Demonstrate fluency in diagnosis management
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and code Section I of the MDS 3.0
- Demonstrate ability to sequence codes correctly for billing
- Demonstrate ability to apply ICD.10-CM coding guidelines to common SNF scenarios through the use of case study examples

Beginners in ICD-10 coding in long-term care setting: MDS, Medical Records, Nursing, Therapy
Contact Hours
Up to 13 hours nursing CE through Kentucky Board of Nursing. Proactive Medical Review & Consultants, LLC is an approved provider of continuing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing, #5-0065. To receive the 13 contact hours, you must complete the entire program. Certificates may be printed once the program evaluation is submitted. Cancellations
Cancellations must be made in writing and emailed to info@proactivemedicalreview.com. Cancellations by phone will not be accepted. Cancellations received no later than 24 hours before the webinar start time will receive a full refund. Registrants who do not attend or who do not complete the full seminar will not receive a refund unless prior written notice is given to the Proactive Medical Review office. Attendance for the full workshop required to receive certificate of attendance at close of the event. Partial attendance may be granted based on time actually attended.
